   Japan's intentions were to establish in Asia the same control that Germany was exercising in Europe, but the American Naval power in the Pacific Ocean was an obstacle that should be eliminated. So, Japan attacked Pearl Harbor  by surprising, forcing the U.S.A. to declare war against Japan in 1941.
