The word incentive means motivation like to encourage someone to do something. For example: It was my friends first time going to ice skate so he was kind of scared. But then I started to tell him all the good things you can do while skating and he was finally excited about going.
The definition of incentive is something that makes someone want to do something or work harder. An example of an incentive is extra money offered to those employees who work extra hours on a project. Something that stimulates one to take action, work harder, etc.; stimulus.
What are the 3 types of incentives?
But incentives are not just economic in nature – incentives come in three flavours: Economic Incentives – Material gain/loss (doing what's best for us) Social Incentives – Reputation gain/loss (being seen to do the right thing) Moral Incentives – Conscience gain/loss (doing/not doing the 'right' thing).
