Diana Baumrind gave the model of parenting styles that is arguably the most influential in classifying styles of parenting. She argued that there are four parenting styles: authoritative, neglectful, permissive, and authoritarian which differ in dimension of responsiveness (expression of warmth) and demandingness (expression of control).
