Hello!
"Cellar Respiration" is the process of extracting energy in the form of Adenosine Tri-Phosphate (ATP) from glucose and it consists of three main stages.
Stage 1:
The glucose from the food you eat is broken down in the cytoplasm of the cell. It yields a very small amount of energy and two molecules of pyruvate. This process is called "glycolysis." It's basically a process of splitting sugars.
Stage 2:
In the next stage, the two pyruvate molecules are transported into the mitochondria. In the mitochondria enter the Krebs Cycle.
Stage 3:
Finally, the energy in the energy carriers enter an Electron Transport Chain. This is when the energy is used to produce ATP.
