The relationship between nutrition, quality of life, and disease, is an important theme in our society. This relationship is defined by the fact that a good nutrition ensures a good quality of life, with a significant reduction of risk for some of the major disease common in our world. For example, a nutrition low in saturated fat is been proved to be helpful to have a good quality of life and reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases.

Parents, grandparents, and other family members have a fundamental role in promoting a healthy family. First of all, when children are very small, they can teach mostly by example, so if the family eats well it is probable that the child would develop healthy habits as well. After the child is growing up, the influence can still remain present in every phase of his/her life.

They can give mental and emotional support in good and bad ways: for example, if a child needs to be motivated to eat more vegetable, the family can improve this aspect by associated positive emotion with vegetable. On the other hand, if the family first doesn't support a person, or act like they do not care, this could influence the emotional support of the person involved.

The dynamics of family roles and responsibilities can relate to healthy behaviours, both physical and emotional by giving people the opportunity to express themselves, have a stress free environment, and by being loved no matter what. This gave people the chance to develop healthy habits because they have the support and care to be able to take care of themselves.

As an example, if a child decided to cut his meat consume in order to avoid cardiovascular disease, but his/her father constantly make fun of him/her and show that he does not believe in the data the child is showing him, and in general tries to make life difficult for the child, it is possible that he/she decided to give up on a healthy habits just to make his/her father happy.
