The answer would be a. cancer cells become invasive and grow into a body tissue. Apoptosis is a programmed cell death that certain cells undergo in order to protect the organism. However, sometimes these cells can avoid apoptosis and do not respond to signals to stop dividing (known as uncontrolled cell division); this results in a mass of extra cells (tumor) and that's how cancer happens.
