Inflammation happens when tissues are being injured by trauma or bacteria. The cells then would release chemicals such as histamines and prostaglandins to protect the area from foreign substance. These cause the blood vessels to have the fluid to leak into one's tissues and that causes swelling, warmth and redness. There are 3 stages in inflammatory process namely the Acute for the swelling stage, Sub-Acute which is the regenerative stage and Chronic for the remodelling stage.
