You can discuss the changing role of women during WWII, which was certainly an extensive change. Since the majority of men were needed on the battlefield, women were able to take these men's jobs in order to keep the country's economy alive.
You can also talk about the pervasive ideas of "sacrifice" and "duty" during the war, characterized by government-regulated rations, victory gardens, and increased volunteering efforts. 

Due to the war several changes occurred in the United states. Some of these changes were made in the American society:

  • The changes in the businesses. Most of the businesses in the United states had to turn to the production of military goods for the war.
  • Lots of women in the country had to take on the roles of the men. This is because the men were mostly at war.
  • Increase in production of military item brought about an increase in the number of jobs available in country.
  • The country experienced significant growth in its economy during the war.
  • More people were able to buy homes and moved to the suburban areas.
