Let the number be x
So 12% of x
= 0.12 of x
= 0.12x
Also 10 % of 6
= 0.10 of 6
= 0.10 ×6
= 0.6
Now 12% of x is the same as 10% of 6.
So
Now as both represent the same quantity
So 0.12x = 0.6
Dividing both sides by 0.12
We get
x = 0.6 / 0.12
x= 5
Hence 12% of 5 is the same as 10% of 6
