6% = 0.06
6% of the price of the meal   is
 0.06*$29.85=$1.791
 the price of the meal and tax
$29.85 + $1.791= 31.641

 15%=0.15
The tip was 15% of the meal and the sales tax  is
0.15*31.641= 4.74615

the price of the meal and tax and 15% tip = 31.641+ 4.74615≈ $36.39 

the price of the meal and tax and 15% tip =  $36.39
