If a 35 rope is cut into two sections with one section 6 times as long as the other section, how long is the shorther piece

Respuesta :

Let x = will be the shorter piece. Let 6x = will be the longer piece

So: x+6x=35 7x=35 x=5 The shorter piece is 5ft long
if the rope is 6 times bigger than the smaller rope equals 7 parys so 35/7=5 so the small rope is 5 and the big one is 30 altogether it is 35.
