Balance” choices are self-regulating which is inescapable.
Maybe you mean “them finding a balance like the balance you have”?
Professional criminals, hit men, peddlers in politics and media, advertisers, drug lords, university professors….everyone has their own balance. And they all find it via their chosen beliefs.
But I can understand that some might have a social norm they feel will best keep society on a stable ongoing path. But who says society doesn’t need to be hot-wired onto a very different path? Answer: probably those who want stability.
Stability is fine and so is instability, IMO. Stable got America to the present naive and comfortably numb status with (maybe) a higher percentage of capability-challenged citizenry. Or at least, those folks have a disproportionate access to the media’s “over dramatizing” microphone.
But we know that chaos is (more or less) needed to drive change and for sure, the status quo establishment wants stability to further “mine the citizenry” (like coal miners do to coal).
