Drops of water sizzled on the burner as Martha dropped each potato into
the pot. This was her first time cooking a feast for Fredrick's family, and she
wanted it to be delicious. She was concerned the turkey she bought
months early would be freezer burnt, but she was pleasantly surprised that
it looked so fresh. The smell of the turkey wafted in her direction and
lingered for a while. She flew around the kitchen like a busy bee until
everything was perfect. Right on queue, she heard a ding dong; her guests
had arrived! She took a deep breath and opened the door.
