The client in PACU after thyroidectomy is primarily monitored for any bleeding from the neck area which may be followed by inserting a drain under the incision.
PACU- post-anesthesia care unit is a vital section of care centers or hospitals. A patient after thyroidectomy is transferred to this unit. Anesthesiologists or certified nurse anesthetists along with other medical staff take care of the client in PACU.
