[1] Try answering an easier question first to show yourself the idea. Let's say we had $20 instead, if each toy costs $9, how many toys could we buy? and how much money would be left over?
It isn't too hard to see that we could only buy 2 toys for $18 total and we would have $2 left over.
[2] With larger numbers we really have to come up with a strategy for consistently getting the right answers. We can't just "feel" our way to the answer. Now, we have $2760 and each toy costs $9. How can we figure out the total number of toys we could buy?
Well, we can definitely buy more than 2 toys (duh!)... In fact, we can figure out the number of toys by dividing 2760 by 9:

So, we're saying that we can buy 306 toys and have $6 left over. Do you believe that? Check it!
306*9 = $2754
which does leave $6 left over like we said.
