Explain the difference in opinions that De leon and Massanet had about the military presence at the missions.

Father Massanet did not agree with the amount of soldiers that Governor De Leon wanted to protect the mission. De Leon wanted to leave fifty while Massanet only wanted three. Father Massanet also thought that De Leon's treatment of the Indians was unneccesarily harsh and violent.
