Where does the person giving this description below likely live? My country has been under direct rule by the French since the 19th century. The majority of my people are Muslim, which created tensions early with our Christian oppressors. Since the French defeat at Dien Bien Phu, however, it seems that France is having a difficult time keeping control over its colonies. Our revolutionary leaders have encouraged us to launch our own violent revolution and remove the French occupiers.

Algeria is part of the countries that made up the Arab region, its is situated in the Northern part of  Africa between Tunisia and Morocco. Algeria was colonized by the French around 1830 and they remained in place until 1962. Most of the people of Algerian are Muslims and they are always in constant fights with the French settlers because they want the country to be independent from France.
