The Korean War was when North Korea crossed the 38th Parallel and invaded South Korea. South Korea retreated then the United States sent troops in to fight back. Containment was successful. The Soviets ordered the invasion.

Soviets also imported missiles into Cuba which is 90 miles from Florida, creating serious problems between the Soviets and the Americans.
